Nanoose Bay Travel Guide
Welcome to Nanoose Bay!
The unspoiled coastal community of Nanoose Bay offers a refreshingly rural atmosphere, within easy access of urban amenities in Nanaimo to the south and Parksville to the north. Even the birds appreciate the unsullied area, as many winter here or rejuvenate before migrating. For exceptional bird watching, visit the Qualicum National Wildlife Area - Nanoose Unit. In January, visitors to the park are often treated to a wonderful spectacle, as bald eagles migrate to the area. For those who prefer watching golf balls soar, the Fairwinds Golf and Country Club is constantly ranked as one of the best mountain golf courses on Vancouver Island. The waters beckon kayakers and boaters, while sand strollers can find some prosperous clam digging spots. Several accommodations exist in Nanoose Bay, including a fine resort and several bed and breakfasts. A variety of unique gifts, often with a Native theme, can be found in cozy shops throughout the town.
